Unique boat, the Grand Trawler 62 has benefited from sustained care and attention throughout the stages of conception. Its construction has been carried out according to an innovative process. We reveal you here, the secrets of making this boat out of the ordinary. Expert words.

The role of the Study Office, of the Naval Designer and Architect

Reassuring and balanced silhouette, efficient and comfortable hull, generosity in habitable volumes ... The Grand Trawler 62 it concretizes the formidable study and design work carried out by BENETEAU and its collaborators to reach this perfect mastery of the manufacture of a large voyage ship. It is the fruit of a long and rigorous process of creation and realization, started in april 2018. Depending on the stages, have been between 10 Y 20 experts who have worked on the development of the admiral trawler.

The major manufacturing stages of the Grand Trawler 62

It is in Monfalcone, near venice, in Italy, where the Grand Trawler 62. In an ultra-modern factory dedicated to the production of the large units of the Beneteau Group, like the yachts of the luxurious brand Monte Carlo Yachts or the superb sailboats signed CNB. The Grand Trawler production lines follow an efficient and innovative process, commissioned by teams of experienced craftsmen and operators accustomed to the demands of high-end shipbuilding. See below the great stages :

The team of the great molds. Once done, the big helmet molds, of the deck and the flybridge are equipped with technical elements (electronic wiring, pipelines, air conditioning, etc.), then coupled with their counter molds.

These counter molds are essential to reinforce the structural rigidity of the future boat. They delimit the soils, bulkheads and ceilings, fixed elements behind which engineering systems are integrated. One of the characteristics of the construction of the Grand Trawler 62 in Monfalcone is that the helmet, the deck and the flybridge are configured as independent islands. The different interior spaces that make up the boat are made in parallel in modules, that are integrated as work progresses.

Let's take the example of a complete space like a toilet, that will be integrated into the helmet location assigned to it, then attached to the structures already in place. Equivalent sequences are operated for the more technical elements such as deposits, engines or machinery.

The industrial process is the same in the island dedicated to the deck / wheelhouse, where the equipped kitchen or the internal staircase leading to the flybridge are integrated. Ditto for the islet of the Fly, where the pre-installed pilot console and the bar cabinet are fixed and connected.

The assembly of these three blocks. The hull is covered by the deck, herself covered by the fly. The operators then carry out directly on board, the latest network connections and finishes.

Throughout this assembly process, teams systematically test placed items and perform multiple quality checks.
